Glenn E. Ostriker

Dr. Glenn Ostriker is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery. He serves as Director of Ophthalmology at Stamford Hospital. Dr. Ostriker has been a pioneer in cataract surgery and is among the first surgeons in the U.S. to perform capsulorhexis. This technique changed the way physicians perform cataract surgery allowing for safer cataract procedures through a tiny incision. He was also the first ophthalmologist in Connecticut to perform sutureless cataract surgery, using no stitches to close the incision. Dr. Ostriker has helped shape the future of medicine as a clinical associate professor at New York University School of Medicine. He teaches residents and practicing ophthalmologists how to perform advanced cataract surgery techniques. Dr. Ostriker completed his undergraduate education at Princeton University, writing his senior thesis in mathematics. He completed his MD, residency training in Ophthalmology, and fellowship in Neurophysiology at the New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Ostriker has been recognized for his expertise by his peers and named "Best Doctor" in New York Magazine, Stamford Magazine, Greenwich Magazine and Connecticut Magazine along with many other publications.
