Description
Dr. Baumann is a Connecticut native who graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and physiology. She received her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and went on to complete her surgical training at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. During this time, she took two years for academic development completing the Leadership Preventive Medicine Residency at Dartmouth and obtained a Master’s in Public Health through The Dartmouth Institute to better understand our healthcare system and social determinants of health. She returned to Connecticut for her fellowships in Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital. In addition, she has a passion for education of medical students and surgical residents. Outside of the operating room, Dr. Baumann discovered a love for the outdoors during residency and hiked all the mountains greater than 4000 feet in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. She now continues the adventures with her husband, daughters and dogs.
